Updated Vegas Odds On Which College Football Teams Have The Best Chance To Win A National Title

The start of the college football season is just over a week away, and teams around the country are gearing up for a run at a national title. The defending champion Clemson Tigers start the season ranked fifth in the country, while Alabama claims the No. 1 spot in the preseason coaches poll, making them the poll favorite to win the title this season.

Which teams do the Vegas bookmakers think are the favorites? Here are the odds for the 21 teams with the best odds, according to Pregame's R.J. Bell.

As Bell notes, Oklahoma - not Oklahoma State - is sitting with the fifth-best odds at 18/1. Oklahoma State sits at 42/1.

Notre Dame is the only team mentioned that is not ranked in the preseason. They are coming off a 4-8 season and have to replace several key starters, including quarterback DeShone Kizer.

Oregon State and Colorado State kickoff the new season on Saturday, Aug. 26 at 2:30 pm ET. There are only three games between ranked teams during the opening week. Michigan vs. Florida and Florida State vs. Alabama are both on Sept. 2, while West Virginia vs. Virginia Tech is on Sept. 3.
