AUBURN, Ala. -- Auburn coach Hugh Freeze spoke from the front of the team meeting room before a practice this spring -- his hands tucked in the pockets of his orange mesh shorts, pacing back and forth, his voice rising as he became more animated.
"There are five schools that have played for two national championships in the past 12 years," he told the entire team and staff seated in the stuffy auditorium. "Five. FIVE in the country."
He held up his left hand to show his fingers.
"FIVE," he repeated, almost yelling now.
