Former Auburn and Akron head coach Terry Bowden will be assisting Clemson as an unpaid football intern as he pursues a Master's degree, athletics department spokesman Ross Taylor told USA TODAY Sports.
Bowden, 63, will serve as a graduate intern while paying his own way to pursue a higher degree in athletic leadership.
Most recently at Akron, where he was fired last December after a 4-8 season, Bowden is the younger brother of former Clemson head coach Tommy Bowden, who was fired midway through the 2008 season and replaced by current Clemson coach Dabo Swinney. He is also the son of Hall of Fame coach Bobby Bowden.
