SAN DIEGO — Told that his program is one of just seven in the Football Bowl Subdivision with double-digit wins in each of the past three seasons, San Diego State head coach Rocky Long swiveled in his chair and produced a laminated sheet containing the tale of the tape.
It’s San Diego State and some elite company: Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Wisconsin. With the help of the university’s sports information department, Long created the worksheet that details the Aztecs’ place in rarefied air — in wins and losses, at least, among the very elite in college football.
