No. 7 Michigan survives upset bid from Army in overtime

Michigan can breathe again.

The seventh-ranked Wolverines held off Army in overtime 24-21 at the Big House when Josh Uche recovered a fumble by Black Knights quarterback Kelvin Hopkins in the second overtime. The turnover came after Jake Moody hit a 43-yard field goal on the first possession of the second extra period.

The loss was a major disappointment for Army, which also lost in overtime at Oklahoma last season. The good news for Michigan? The Sooners went to play in the College Football Playoff.

The game was close throughout despite the Wolverines entering as a three-touchdown favorite.
