Minnesota walk-on shares touching tribute to Jerry Kill

Minnesota head coach Jerry Kill resigned Wednesday due to health concerns. Throughout the day, tributes to Kill poured in from all over the college football world. One particularly touching one came from Cavonte Johnson, a walk-on defensive back for the Gophers.

On Facebook, Johnson detailed how Kill was willing to give him a chance when he was a senior coming off a knee injury and what followed after that. Gopher beat writer Ryan Burns has a shot of Johnson’s post. It is definitely worth a read.

Want to know what Jerry Kill meant to these players and the type of guy he was, ask walk-on Cavonte Johnson.
