Max Wittek Injury Update: Knee Surgery Ends Hawaii QB's Collegiate Career

Hawaii quarterback Max Wittek is done for the rest of the season after the Honolulu Star-Advertiser's Stephen Tsai (via College Football Talk's John Taylor) reported the fifth-year senior will need surgery to repair a right patella injury.

Since he has no eligibility left beyond this year, this development effectively signals the end of Wittek's college career, which began with the USC Trojans in 2012.

He transferred to Hawaii following the 2013 season, during which Cody Kessler emerged as USC's best option under center. Wittek became the Rainbow Warriors' starting QB after sitting out the required one year, and in nine games, he threw for 1,542 yards, seven touchdowns and 15 interceptions.
