Maryland is returning a hero from the 2015 NCAA tournament, as reserve guard Varun Ram will return for his final season.
The 5-foot-9 guard is a former walk-on who made a key play in a Round of 64 win over Valparaiso, as Ram stripped Crusaders guard Keith Carter on the game’s final play to seal a Terrapin victory.
Ram announced his return on Twitter.
Although he only played 57 minutes during the 2014-15 season, Turgeon clearly trusts Ram as a defensive player and threw him on the floor in one of the most important possessions of the season.
