BATON ROUGE. La. - The last time I saw Bo Pelini in person was at about 4 a.m. on Jan. 8, 2008, on Bourbon Street in New Orleans.
Just a few hours before, his LSU defense had held off his alma mater, Ohio State, for a 38-24 victory in the Bowl Championship Series national championship game in the Louisiana Superdome.
Pelini had continued coordinating LSU's defense through the end of that season after being hired as Nebraska's coach in early December.
It is 12 years and another job later, and Pelini is back as LSU's defensive coordinator.
