LSU coach Ed Orgeron agrees to new contract worth more than $42 million

BATON ROUGE, La. - LSU football coach Ed Orgeron was right on time, as usual.

Two weeks ago Saturday while accepting the Eddie Robinson coach of the year award in New Orleans, Orgeron introduced his agent, Gary Uberstine, to the crowd at the Sazerac House on Canal Street.

"Hopefully, he's going to be busy in a couple of weeks," Orgeron said when he was making $4 million a year as LSU's coach.

It's almost two weeks later, and Orgeron will now be making a $6 million per year in base salary as part of a new contract that is worth $42 million over six years.
