College football players are 'hurt, scared, frustrated' but motivated to confront racial inequality

Several programs in the Bowl Subdivision representing most of the conferences planning to play this fall turned Thursday and Friday into days of reflection, mirroring similar efforts from athletes in the major sports leagues to temporarily redirect focus away from team activities and onto issues related to racism and social injustice.

NBA and WNBA teams have opted against holding playoff games since Wednesday, with the NBA announcing plans to resume competition this weekend. Several MLB teams have postponed games and most MLS matches on Wednesday were called off, while at least nine NFL teams have decided against practicing as scheduled.
