Clemson football coach Dabo Swinney is being honored by a family council group that opposes gay marriage and encourages homosexual conversion therapy among many of its controversial stances.

The Palmetto Family Council is hosting an event on June 2 to honor Swinney and “those who through their examples and efforts are making South Carolina a better place to live and raise family,” according to its Facebook page. Tickets for the event start at $50.

The event comes a little more than a year after Swinney responded to complaints that he was pushing his religion onto his football team.
