Last weekend's schedule wasn't expected to produce much change to this week's edition of the USA TODAY Sports bowl projections. And, sadly, the games involving the top contenders ended up living down to the low expectations.
That means no adjustments among the top four in the College Football Playoff race and also no change for the New Year's Six bowls. The only drama for the latter group was close home wins for Penn State and Virginia, slated for the Rose Bowl and Orange Bowl, respectively.
