Bo Schembechler’s Son to Discuss Coach’s Failure to Protect Athletes from Abuse

The son of former Michigan football coach Bo Schembechler plans to announce at a Thursday press conference he was sexually abused by Dr. Robert Anderson, according to the Detroit Free Press' Kirkland Crawford and David Jesse.

Matt Schembechler said in a press release he plans to "set the record straight regarding his own abuse" and how his father responded to the allegations.

Michigan spokesman Rick Fitzgerald declined to comment on the forthcoming press conference.

Anderson worked for Michigan from 1966 to 2003 and occupied a role within the Wolverines athletic department between 1981 and 1999.
