A member of the Amherst College football team died Friday in Mexico City, the Boston Globe's Danny McDonald reported Tuesday.
According to McDonald, spokeswomen from both Amherst College and the U.S. State Department confirmed the death of Andrew Dorogi, who was a senior economics major at Amherst.
"We extend our deepest sympathies on behalf of the entire Amherst community to his family, friends, teammates, coaches, and teachers," Amherst spokeswoman Caroline Hanna said in an official statement. "At this time, in keeping with the wishes of Andrew’s family, we have no other information to share.
