Alabama disposes of Mercer showing no mercy in shutout win

TUSCALOOSA — Already comfortably ahead in a game that never had a remote chance to be competitive, Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts called for the football. Calvin Ridley ran a double move along the right sideline, a doomed Mercer cornerback falling to the turf.

Hurts gave a pump fake that flummoxed the sleepy crowd that gathered on this cloudy morning.
