Grad Transfer OL Calvin Anderson Announces Where He Will Play In 2018

Offensive tackle Calvin Anderson, a graduate transfer from Rice, announced that he has committed to the Texas Longhorns.

Anderson, an Austin native, picked the Longhorns over AuburnMichigan, and Oklahoma.

Texas needs immediate help along the offensive line, and the chance for immediate playing time played a major factor in Anderson's decision. He also has a very strong relationship with new Longhorns co-offensive coordinator and offensive line coach Herb Hand.

According to a report from 247sports, the Texas coaching staff "hit a homerun" when they visited Anderson in January after he announced his intentions to leave Rice.

Anderson, a three-year starter at Rice, will graduate on May 12. ProFootballFocus rated him as the 42nd-best offensive tackle in the country last season.
