College Football Recruiting Rumors: Florida Could Flip Top QB Prospect, FSU Pledge May Sign Early & More

While a lot of the college football world is focused on bowl season and the upcoming College Football Playoff, there is still plenty happening off the field on the recruiting trail with the Early Signing Day period of December 20th to the 22nd for teams to focus on. Here are all the latest recruiting news and rumors you need to know:

Florida a new threat to flip Ohio State commit Emory Jones
Jones, a four-star quarterback from Franklin, GA, has been committed to Ohio State since July 2016, but he has taken several visits to other schools over the past few months and could flip his commitment this week.

Alabama was previously thought to be the favorite to flip Jones, but after taking a visit to Florida this weekend, the Gators are trending up in a major way with many thinking Jones will actually sign with them.

New Florida head coach Dan Mullen has been pursuing Jones ever since he took and job, and after four-star quarterback Matt Corral flipped his commitment from the Gators to Ole Miss last week, they're going all-in on Jones.

Four-star CB may sign with Florida State early thanks to Willie Taggart
A.J. Lytton, a four-star cornerback from Upper Marlboro, MD, has been committed to Florida State since April but wasn't planning to sign with the school until February as he considered all of his options.

However, after meeting with new FSU head coach Willie Taggart, he could sign with the Seminoles this week.

"I talked to his mom this morning, and they are kind of in the middle now on when to sign," his high school assistant coach Steve Rapp said. "At first, he was going to February. Now, they are not sure.

"Willie Taggart is a breath of fresh air. He's an energetic, juiced up guy. I think he has a great plan for Florida State and AJ. I think he's going to do a great job there in recruiting and coaching. I think the change from the pro-style offense to coach Taggart's style is really going to give the fans something they really like."

Lytton is rated as the No. 8 cornerback and No. 52 overall prospect in the country, according to the 247sports Composite.

Top Michigan commit Otis Reese not signing early, could flip to Georgia
Four-star linebacker Otis Reese (Leesburg, GA) has been committed to Michigan since June 2016, yet he does not plan to sign with the Wolverines early as he continues to be pursued by the in-state Georgia Bulldogs.

Reese has taken several unofficial visits to Georgia this season, while he hasn't been back to Ann Arbor since making the trip for the Spring Game in April. Many believe that he is not signing early because he's planning to flip to the Bulldogs.

The 6-foot-4, 206-pounder is ranked as the No. 6 outside linebacker and No. 92 overall prospect in the country, according to the 247sports Composite.

Michigan to sign 3-star CB?
Three-star cornerback Vincent Gray (Rochester, MI) received an offer from Michigan recently, and it has completely changed his recruiting plans.

The former Missouri commit was expected to sign with West Virginia this week, but now isn't doing that and will make an official visit to Ann Arbor in January, making us think that the Wolverines are the new favorite to land the in-state prospect.

The 6-foot-2, 180-pounder is ranked as the No. 58 cornerback and No. 632 overall prospect in the country, according to the 247sports Composite.
