Big Game Alert: Melvin Gordon Breaks NCAA Single-Game Rushing Record with 408 Yards in Win Over Nebraska

Melvin Gordon broke the NCAA record for rushing yards in a game, finishing with 408 yards on 25 carries in Wisconsin's win over Nebraska.

Gordon surpassed LaDainian Tomlinson's record of 406 yards, which Tomlinson set as a TCU player against UTEP in 1999.

Tomlinson tweeted his congratulations to the Wisconsin star after his record fell following Gordon's 26-yard touchdown run:

Gordon racked up his 408 yards in just three quarters - meaning he broke the record with a full 15 minutes to spare. With the Badgers up by 35 points and the record in hand, Gordon did not receive a carry in the fourth quarter.

It was quite the afternoon for Gordon, who also scored four touchdowns and led #20 Wisconsin to a huge victory over #16 Nebraska, putting the Badgers in first place in the Big Ten West.
