The Los Angeles Lakers will likely be looking for a new head coach this offseason as Luke Walton may already be getting the push out the door. Even after signing LeBron James as a free agent in Summer 2018, it still wasn’t enough to get the Lakers into the 2019 NBA Playoffs. After making a strong push to trade for Anthony Davis at the 2019 NBA trade deadline in February, the Lakers weren’t able to land the Pelicans superstar, and the team fell apart down the stretch, sealing Walton’s fate once the season is over the the Lakers on Tuesday night against the Blazers.
The Lakers are going to have plenty of time to look for a new head coach as they will miss the playoffs for the sixth straight season. Magic Johnson and Kobe Bryant could be dream replacements in Laker Nation, but names like Jason Kidd and Tyronn Lue may be more realistic.
