Can Derrick Rose stay healthy long enough to be a star again?
On the NBA’s opening night, Derrick Rose scored 18 points on 8-of-22 shooting from the field, and dished out five assists in the Chicago Bulls’ 97-95 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers. As tame and inefficient as those numbers were, there was a lot of optimism surrounding Rose following the game.
One reason for this optimism was that this was a big win for the Bulls. The Cavs are the odds-on favorite to win the NBA Finals this season. This win is a positive sign for a Bulls team that’s looking to finally beat out LeBron James in an Eastern Conference that is largely devoid of contenders.
