Not Bird, not Magic, not Jordan. The cries of NBA old-timers were almost audible when it was announced that Steph Curry was the first unanimous MVP in NBA history. How dare the 131 voters all agree that wimpy, little Steph Curry was the MVP this season.
But guess what? They were right. Curry was undoubtedly the best player in the league this year. The award, however, needs some modifications. As Lebron James so aptly said this week, “I think sometimes the word ‘valuable’ or best player of the year, you can have different results.”
Although the comment clearly insinuates that perhaps Lebron views himself as more valuable than Curry, he does have a valid point about the award.
