Shareef Abdur-Rahim was and still is under-appreciated for his production on the hardwood.
Sometimes it’s fun to play the “What if?” game with the NBA. What if Tracy McGrady had stayed healthy? What if Charlotte had not traded Kobe Bryant on draft night? What if Seattle were to land a new NBA franchise?
However, no one ever thinks about this hypothetical: what if Shareef Abdur-Rahim had played for a good team? And the reason no one thinks about this hypothetical is because Abdur-Rahim is an afterthought in the memories of late 90’s and early-mid 2000’s basketball.
