Doncic out at least 1 week with finger sprain, leg contusion

Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic will miss Sunday's game against the Sacramento Kings with a left finger sprain and a lower left leg contusion, the team announced.

Doncic will be reevaluated in approximately one week. The Lakers are optimistic that Doncic will not need extended time for recovery beyond the initial estimated timeline, sources told ESPN.

"It just kind of was something that happened," Lakers coach JJ Redick said of Doncic's leg injury when asked before the Kings game. "I wasn't even aware of it after the game. I became aware of it, obviously, yesterday and overnight, whatever he felt from that hit, it just materialized.
