When Navy opened spring football practice on Monday, starting quarterback Tago Smith and backup Will Worth were wearing green jerseys signifying they are non-contact. Travis Marshall, who underwent offseason surgery, also was in green.

All the other quarterbacks on the roster had on blue jerseys, which meant they could be tackled.

"Our top two guys we're not going to tackle. Tago's clearly our starter, but we feel really good about Will, too. We know both of those guys are good quarterbacks. We don't need to tackle them to know that they can play," Navy coach Ken Niumatalolo said.
