Navy is hosting George Mason to open the 2021 season and simply stepping on the field at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium against a team wearing a different colored uniform.
“You can feel it in the air. There is definitely great excitement to get back out on the field,” Navy coach Cindy Timchal said. “It feels good to know we’re so close to the starting line after almost a year.”
Navy lost to No. 8 Florida on March 10 and was preparing for its Patriot League season opener at Bucknell four days later when the sports world stood still.
