Naval Academy graduate Alex Chehansky and members of his immediate family had planned a special gathering surrounding the Navy-Notre Dame football game in Ireland.
Twelve Chehansky family members had arranged a 12-day trip with all sorts of other fun activities planned, and it would also become an opportunity to get to know better Chehansky’s sister’s husband, an Irishman. But the main attraction was the 2020 Aer Lingus College Football Classic at Aviva Stadium in Dublin scheduled for Aug. 29.
“We had turned it into a vacation for the whole family. We were really looking forward to spending time with my brother-in-law’s family, playing some golf, sight-seeing then watching Navy beat Notre Dame,” said Chehansky, a 1995 Naval Academy graduate.
