With the result hanging in the balance, Navy’s Andrew Ton was facing match point in his No. 1 singles showdown against Army’s Myles Conlin.
Trailing 5-4 on a deuce point in the third set, Ton dug deep and found a way to extend the match.
“Myles hit a really good serve that I barely get back then we rallied for a bit before he hit a forehand that caught the top of the net and fell on his side,” Ton said.
Ton then scored the next point to break Conlin and force a tiebreaker, which he won in commanding fashion, 7-0.
