It has been a tough year for Shelley Curtis White III, but he's picked himself up and is ready to fly.
The 22-year old is a senior at the Naval Academy. He is the only child of retired Annapolis police officer Shelley White Jr. and retired Navy commander Delores Duncan-White, employed at the Naval Academy as the assistant athletic director for Academic Support Services.
During his senior year at Archbishop Spalding High School in 2011, Shelley, a cornerback and quarterback for the Cavaliers, was recruited by football coaches from two top colleges.
