In early August, coach Rick Sowell called a meeting with Navy men's lacrosse captains Patrick Keena and Jules Godino.
Sowell had a list of talking points and issues he wanted to address. Godino and Keena had an entire notebook full of ideas and plans.
"My captains came in with a lengthy, detailed plan of how they planned to approach the season and that was very impressive to me as a coach. It showed they were taking this responsibility very seriously," Sowell said.
By the time the 2016 season got underway in February, Sowell was already calling Godino and Keena two of the best captains he has been associated with during a nearly three decade career in collegiate coaching.
