When the Navy football team buses rolled into Tecumseh Court in the wee hours of Sunday morning, a raucous celebration was underway.
Almost the entire Brigade of Midshipmen was waiting outside to welcome the football team in the wake of its stirring upset of then No. 13 Memphis. Such a response is usually reserved for victories over Air Force or Army and shows how the enormous success of this year's squad has swept up the entire Naval Academy.
"It was a huge win for our program and it was really great to get home at 4:30 in the morning and receive the reception that we did at the academy," Navy coach Ken Niumatalolo said.
