Navy women’s soccer wins 3 games in 8 days to capture division, spot in Patriot League Tournament semifinal

Navy’s 21-day pause of all athletic activities was particularly difficult for a sport such as soccer, as players run almost nonstop up and down a 120-yard long field for 90 minutes. Cardiovascular conditioning is crucial to success.

Navy women’s soccer had four practices to prepare for its first game in a month, yet it still found a way to upend Loyola Maryland, 1-0, in overtime at the Ridley Athletic Complex in Baltimore on March 27.

That began a grueling stretch of three games in eight days for the Midshipmen, who emerged from the busy week with a 3-0 record.
