Navy didn't make many 3-pointers during Monday afternoon's Patriot League home opener. However, the Midshipmen knocked one down when they needed it the most.
Sarita Condie drained a three from the elbow with 1:04 remaining as Navy pulled out a 57-56 victory over Holy Cross at Alumni Hall. Condie finished with 15 points and seven rebounds for the Midshipmen, who remained undefeated at home.
Holy Cross had a chance to win at the end, but Navy forced a turnover. Head coach Bill Gibbons called timeout with 10.9 seconds left to set up the final shot and the Crusaders passed the ball inside to freshman Lauren Manis, who was being guarded by Hannah Fenske.
