Navy swimmers off to strong start at Patriot League Championship

The Navy swimming and diving teams opened the first night of competition at the Patriot League Championship by setting a trio of records and winning each of the five events contested Wednesday night at Lejeune Hall.

The meet opened with Navy's women's team posting a time of 1:40.01 to win the 200 medley relay. Biz Graeff (So., Canton, Ohio) was Navy's opening swimmer and she was within two-hundredths of a second of the lead with her backstroke time of 25.76. Lauren Barber (Fr., New Wilmington, Pa.) followed in the breaststroke with a clocking of 27.40 that boosted the Mids to a two-second lead at the halfway point of the race.
