Navy’s starting quarterback will not be determined until later this week and may not become public knowledge until the offense takes the field on Saturday in South Bend.
It appears the competition is between Zach Abey and Garret Lewis with head coach Ken Niumatalolo and offensive coordinator Ivin Jasper deciding between the two based off performance in practice this week.
Malcolm Perry, the surprise starter at quarterback in last Saturday’s game against SMU, is nursing a sprained ankle and is questionable for this Saturday’s matchup with Notre Dame.
“It’s probably between Garret and Zach right now,” Niumatalolo said after practice on Tuesday night.
