Navy's secondary looked silly a few times in the season-ending showdown against Army, allowing wide receiver Edgar Poe to repeatedly get wide open on the same drag route.
Poe wound up making five catches for 121 yards and a touchdown, with most of that damage coming in the first half. However, the Navy defensive backs really buckled down at crunch time and made some big plays that turned the tide of the game.
"We made some mistakes on a couple pass plays, but other than that those guys really showed up when they needed to," Navy secondary coach Dan O'Brien said of his unit.
