Tulane came to Annapolis last Saturday and shut down the powerful Navy rushing attack.
Defensive tackles Tanzel Smart and Corey Redwine led the way as the Green Wave limited the Midshipmen to 133 rushing yards, one of the worst performances of the current triple-option era.
Tulane stacked nine defenders in the box and covered up all five Navy offensive linemen. The Green Wave brought both safeties up to the line in run support and dared the Mids to throw. Quarterback Keenan Reynolds completed just enough passes to set up touchdowns that helped the home team pull away for a 31-14 win.
