In 2019, the Midshipmen compiled a 12-4-1 record and earned the third seed of the Patriot League Tournament. However, Navy was unable to build off that momentum due to the coronavirus pandemic.
After just playing one game that counted during the fall and having three of the initial four games of the spring season postponed due to COVID issues, Navy finished the combined 2020-21 campaign with a 4-2-1 record.
The Midshipmen shared second place in the Patriot League but lost a tiebreaker and did not qualify for the postseason tournament.
“Truth is, had it not been for COVID, we would have repeated our success of 2019,” said O’Donohue, noting the Mids are 20-6-1 over the last 27 games said.
