The Patriot League announced the Midshipmen had clinched the South Division by virtue of their victory over the Eagles on Saturday.
While thrilled to learn it was guaranteed a top three seed for the Patriot League Tournament, Navy did not allow that knowledge to detract from its edge. The Midshipmen looked like a team intent on earning the top seed for the postseason when it met the Eagles for the back end of a weekend doubleheader.
“We didn’t talk about seeding at all today. All we talked about was trying to be Patriot League regular season champions,” Navy coach Ed DeChellis said.
