Carin Gabarra downplayed her 300th career coaching victory. More importantly, she hopes the rest of the Patriot League is doing the same about Navy's chances in the upcoming league tournament.
Navy is coming off Tuesday's 10-0 rout of Hampton University, a first-year Division I program. It also marked the 300th career coaching victory for Gabarra.
Gabarra, in her 23rd season as a head coach and 22nd at Navy, has a career record of 300-138-43. The first six of her victories came at Westmont College (California).
"To me, that would be the milestone: 300 wins for the program,'' Gabarra said.
