Let the hype begin.
Navy will play one of its most anticipated football games in recent history on Friday when it meets Houston in a showdown for the West Division title and a berth in the American Athletic Conference championship game.
ABC Television has elected to pick up the contest for a national broadcast while 40,000-seat TDECU Stadium is already sold out. The winner will host the AAC Championship game against the East Division representative, which will either be Temple (9-2, 6-1) or South Florida (7-4, 5-2).
"In terms of implications and ramifications, this is one of the biggest games we've ever had during my time here," eighth-year head coach Ken Niumatalolo said.
