Navy coaches “chase ghosts” trying to figure out Marshall offensive and defensive schemes

Navy’s coaching staff does not know exactly what to expect out of Marshall when the two schools meet in the season opener this afternoon in Annapolis.

Marshall has a new head coach in Charles Huff, who was hired away from perennial national championship contender Alabama. The Denton, Maryland native and North Carolina High graduate has a well-earned reputation as one of the nation’s best running back coaches and recruiters.

Huff helped develop Nyjee Harris while at Alabama and Saquon Barkley while at Penn State. He helped C.J. Spiller to his first career 1,000-yard season while with the Buffalo Bills in 2012 and was running game coordinator and running backs coach at Mississippi State.
