Navy begins building offense around quarterback Perry

Head coach Ken Niumatalolo made a major announcement prior to the start of Navy spring football practice.

Niumatalolo revealed that Malcolm Perry was being reinstated as the starting quarterback and the coaching staff was going to tailor the offense to take advantage of his abilities.

Of course, it is the job of offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Ivin Jasper to execute that edict. Jasper was asked recently what exactly building the offense around Perry means.

“We have to be smart and play to his strengths,” Jasper said. “Malcolm is a fast kid who is great in space so we need to do some things that are designed to fit his skill set.
