The Navy football team is ranked 16th in the latest College Football Playoff Rankings released by ESPN and the College Football Playoff Committee. The Mids are up four spots from last week and are one of three American Athletic Conference teams ranked in the Top 25 and the highest ranked team among the Group of Five. The highest ranked Group of Five conference champion will receive a bid to either the Peach (Dec. 31) or Fiesta Bowl (Jan. 1).
Navy (8-1), coming off a 55-14 win over SMU on Saturday, is off to its best start since 1963.
