While the record may not reflect it, second-year head coach Jeff Monken thinks Army football is making positive strides in the right direction.
Army will bring a 2-9 record into Saturday's showdown with archrival Navy at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. On the surface, that would seem a backslide from Monken's first season at the helm when he led the Black Knights to four wins.
"I really feel like our program has improved tremendously over the last two years. It's hard to see when you look from the outside because of the lack of victories," Monken said.
