Minato leads Army women to season sweep of Navy

Army has put better women's basketball teams on the court in years past. However, in a Patriot League that is down across the board this season, the Black Knights have been simply dominant.

Standout senior point guard Kelsey Minato led the way with 13 points and five assists as Army beat Navy, 49-34, in an ugly, low-scoring affair on Saturday at Alumni Hall. Senior center Aimee Oertner totaled 12 points, 10 rebounds and seven blocked shots for the Black Knights, who swept the Midshipmen for the first time since 2013.

Sophomore guard Destinee Morris made three 3-pointers in adding 11 points for Army (23-2, 14-1), which boasts a program-record 13-game winning streak and has now swept the season series from six Patriot League opponents.
