A seven-goal run combined with a first-half shutout helped the Navy women's lacrosse team defeat Boston University, 12-6, on Saturday at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.

"The potential of this team was on display against Boston University for the full 60 minutes," Navy head coach Cindy Timchal said. "Both sides of the ball showed true focus and determination, especially in the first half, to earn a tough win over a well-respected Boston University team."

Junior attacker Morgan Young scored the game's first goal 1:30 into the contest to give Navy a 1-0 lead. Young scored her 23rd goal of the season by beating her defender on the right side of the eight-meter cone and snuck a high shot past Boston (7-7, 4-3 PL) goalkeeper Caroline Meegan.
