The Navy men's basketball team opened Patriot League play on Wednesday night with a 88-58 loss to Bucknell in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.
Navy (9-5) was coming off its best non-conference showing in seven years since the team was 11-4 during the 2008-09 season. But the Mids struggled out of the gate and trailed the Bison (4-8) at halftime, 42-29.
Shawn Anderson led Navy with 19 points while Tim Abruzzo had 11.
Bucknell, which ended a seven-game losing streak, was led by Chris Hass with 22 points.
Navy returns to action Saturday when hosting Holy Cross at 1 p.
