Navy women's basketball opened Patriot League play 0-2 for the first time since 2009, head coach Stefanie Pemper's first season at the helm. Pemper got things turned around that year and the Midshipmen finished with an 8-6 conference record.
Navy certainly did not want to start 0-3 in the Patriot League for the first time since 2008 when it finished 7-23 overall and 3-11 in the final year of former coach Tom Marryott's tenure.
In order to prevent that from happening, the Midshipmen needed to find some offense. Navy was held to just 41 and 49 points, respectively, in losing to Bucknell and Holy Cross to kick off the conference campaign.
