Head coach Ken Niumatalolo is always looking for ways Navy can improve as a football program. This past offseason, Niumatalolo put special teams under the microscope and decided that was an area that should be addressed.
The Midshipmen struggled in some of the specialty areas last season, particularly kickoff coverage. Recognizing the importance of being sound on special teams, Niumatalolo has made it an emphasis during spring camp.
"We're actually doing more special teams this spring than we've done in the past. It's been a real emphasis," Niumatalolo said following practice on Wednesday.
